A cozy corner of a kitchen or living room is used as a breakfast nook. As the popularity of having a breakfast nook increased different types of furniture were designed to be used for this intimate space in a home. Breakfast nooks are alternative dining spaces and will usually have a small dining table and chairs. The first breakfast nooks had benches and tables rather than individual chairs. Some cozy breakfast nooks have upholstered furniture coordinated with the rest of the room.
